About 华光显
Huaguangxian brings Chinese cultural study, knowledge, interactive diagrams and practical study tools together. The current release offers three sections: Learn covers yin-yang, the Five Phases, stem-branch systems, Hetu and Luoshu, hexagrams and other cultural topics; Seasons connects calendar dates, solar terms, traditional hours and quarter-hours; Observe explores the celestial sphere, solar system and calendar astronomy.
Time and calendar conventions
Seasons and calendar astronomy use Beijing time (UTC+8). Location-based sky views use the location and time zone shown on the page. A traditional double-hour lasts two hours; this app divides it into eight 15-minute quarters (ke). Historical systems such as the hundred-ke day differ. The Zi double-hour runs from 23:00 to 01:00 the next day; stem–branch day-boundary conventions are explained on the relevant page. Calendar dates cover 1901–2099.
Visualization and accuracy
Body sizes, colors, orbital distances, 3D motion and some cultural diagrams are adjusted for clarity and are not always to scale. Calculation methods and sources are described in each feature and in Sources & Licenses. The diagrams do not determine weather, terrain, building obstructions or conditions at an observing site. The app is for learning and general reference and does not replace professional ephemerides, navigation, surveying or other safety-critical systems.
Cultural material and translations
In the current release, yin-yang, the Five Phases, hexagrams, stem-branch systems and asterisms are presented as historical culture, texts and traditional models. Traditional correspondences are not claims of modern scientific causation. This release does not provide personal fortune predictions or medical, legal or investment advice. English is a learning aid; some terms and classical passages retain Chinese for comparison and should be read in their historical context.
Platform and license
Huaguangxian supports iPhone, iPad and Mac with iOS, iPadOS or macOS 26 or later. Use of the app is subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
